Critical reflection leads to the insights necessary for learners to recall information, apply new knowledge and connect that knowledge to their own experiences. Discover why reflection is critical, and how you can begin to provide right-sized and -timed thoughtful moments to your educational events.

For those in the events spaces, it also means bringing in more attendees. Of course, diversity is much more than just race and ethnicity. Meeting planners always want to know how I can help my attendees gain and retain the most from their meeting experience. One might answer that question by looking into conditional factors that may influence an attendee leading up to a meeting as well as during. One may be surprised to know that MEALS play a large role in the attendee’s experience. The center of all brain focus at meetings comes down to MEALS and what attendees consuming and the timing of those meals.

2:45 PM - 3:45 PM                 Successful Meetings Don't Just Happen by Accident, They Happen by Design *Ann Buhl, CMP, CMM

Successful meetings don't just happen; they occur as a result of careful planning and good leadership. We will start with a high-level overview of the meetings and event industry to share the type of skills, competencies, and expertise planners use to help organizations host successful meetings and events. Then we will discuss how a strategic meetings management process with a focus on the participant experience can help take your meetings to the next level, as well as the type of development opportunities and industry certifications available to continue to grow your skills and provide additional value to your organization.
